Perhaps it is not being implemented properly. May be that administration is unaware of the grudges you have. And, whenever you feel situation not as you expect it to be, you now have a right to know from the authorities. You have the right to know what the authorities are expected to do, what they have done about it and, if they have really done something, then why the situation as it exists. Many situations around home or in office can be changed for the better merely by seeking information. A little follow up can then augment the scenario for a better tomorrow. Many a times, your grievance can be alleviated merely by knowing the correct facts of the issue. The need is that one starts taking teh initiative to exercise his right to seek information. |

These are only illustrative instances. In our day-to-day life, we encounter a host of issues which are against our wishes, against the way they ought to be, atleast that is what you feel. |
The governance of the country does not function in an ad-hoc manner. Anything and everything related to public life is visualized and some or the other agency is either directly responsible or implicitly has to take care of the situation. And, you can approach them and seek information on the concerned issue. The moment you file the application seeking information on the issue, the authority is activated towards the issue, the problem and one can hope and expect the issue taken care of even before you receive the information requested. If that does not happen, a little more initiative can do the trick. The situation has changed and you must change accordingly. The Right to Information Act has the potential of changing the country. It is you who needs to change now. |
